Hitachi and Clarion Executives Visit Great Wall Motor

Great Wall Motor (GWM) hosted a delegation of senior executives from Hitachi AMS and Clarion on June 7. The visiting team, led by Sato Hiroshi, CEO and COO of Hitachi AMS, and Izumi Tatsuhiko, Chairman and CEO of Clarion, engaged in discussions regarding vehicle-mounted information systems, engines, electronic transmissions, and applications for new energy technologies.

During the meeting, GWM Chairman Wei Jianjun outlined the company's strategy to focus on the SUV segment. He emphasized GWM's commitment to increasing technical investment, developing R&D personnel, and enhancing independent research and development capabilities. Wei also acknowledged the quality and cost-effectiveness of Hitachi and Clarion's products.

Hitachi AMS and Clarion representatives shared details about their respective company developments and operations in China. Both companies expressed a desire to strengthen strategic exchanges and communication with GWM, particularly in platform technology cooperation, to enhance GWM's overall R&D strength. Hitachi AMS views Chinese auto brands as key partners for future cooperation.

Following the discussions, the delegation toured GWM's testing facilities, including its collision laboratory and the Haval plant in Xushui. Hitachi and Clarion have existing partnerships with GWM in areas such as brake calipers, engines, and audio systems, with expectations to expand the scope of future collaboration.
