Hitachi Astemo to Supply Components to JATCO for Nissan
Hitachi Astemo will provide inverters and motors to JATCO, which will supply e-Axles for Nissan's future electric vehicles. The agreement aims to strengthen Hitachi Astemo's position in the electrification market.

Tokyo – Hitachi Astemo, a company focused on electrification, has agreed to supply key components, including inverters and motors, to JATCO Ltd. JATCO will integrate these parts into e-Axles destined for Nissan's upcoming range of electrified vehicles, encompassing e-POWER hybrid models and battery electric vehicles.
The collaboration is part of Hitachi Astemo's strategy to expand its presence within the electric vehicle sector. The company is responding to a growing demand for electric axles that are lightweight, efficient, and cost-effective. Hitachi Astemo plans to invest significantly, up to 300 billion yen in research and development by fiscal year 2025, with the goal of increasing revenue from its electrification business to over 400 billion yen in the same fiscal year.
For this purpose, Hitachi Astemo has developed highly efficient, low-loss motors utilizing square wire technology, alongside efficient inverters. The company aims to bolster its standing as a global leader in electrification by leveraging synergies from its 2021 merger and integrating its technologies across expanded global production facilities.
Hitachi Astemo operates across several business segments, including powertrain and safety systems, chassis systems, and motorcycle and software businesses. The company seeks to advance sustainability by offering both traditional internal combustion engine systems and emission-reducing electric systems, alongside autonomous driving and advanced chassis solutions.
