Hitachi Scroll Compressor Debuts New Solutions at Chillventa 2026 in Europe

Hitachi Scroll Compressor is presenting its offerings independently for the first time at the Chillventa 2026 trade fair in Nuremberg. The company is showcasing compressor solutions for heat pumps designed to operate with the more environmentally friendly refrigerants R-290 and R-454C. This move strengthens Hitachi's presence in the European market and aims to deepen collaborations with industry partners.

Europe's energy transition and tightening regulations on refrigerant use are reshaping the HVAC industry. The increasing adoption of heat pumps and the demand for lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) solutions are particularly driving technological development. Hitachi is responding by developing compressor technologies that meet new refrigerant requirements while ensuring system performance and reliability.

A highlight at the fair is a DC inverter compressor for R-290, suitable for heat pump applications at low ambient temperatures. R-290 is a natural refrigerant with a very low GWP, making it an attractive option for residential and commercial heat pumps. Additionally, an R-454C compatible model is on display, offering a balanced solution with a GWP of 146 for manufacturers transitioning to new refrigerants while maintaining energy efficiency and performance.

Hitachi is also expanding its scroll compressor technology to other cooling and thermal management applications, including transport thermal management and temperature control for energy storage. The company aims to develop solutions for data center thermal management, reflecting the growing importance of compressor technologies across various sectors. Hitachi seeks to support its customers with efficient and reliable compressor solutions that meet evolving equipment and refrigerant demands.
