HK Anti-Corruption Agency Meets UNODC Chief, Unveils AI System

Vienna, Austria – Hong Kong's Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) has formalized enhanced strategic collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) following a recent visit to Vienna.
ICAC Commissioner Woo Ying-ming met with Ms. Monica Juma, the newly appointed Executive Director of UNODC, to discuss fostering cooperation in anti-corruption efforts. The meetings took place during Commissioner Woo's five-day visit to the Austrian capital.
During the visit, ICAC also unveiled its "Tianma" enforcement system, which utilizes artificial intelligence. The system was presented at an anti-graft conference hosted by UNODC, aimed at promoting international cooperation and sharing best practices in combating corruption. The "Tianma" system is intended to significantly improve the efficiency of investigations and preventative measures.
The visit aimed to advance global anti-corruption initiatives and share experiences in leveraging AI for law enforcement. The strengthened partnership with UNODC is expected to bolster international oversight and information exchange in the fight against corruption.
