hkk Health Reports Offer Insights into Consumer Health Habits
hkk Krankenkasse's health reports provide insights into the health behaviors of German citizens. The studies are based on analyses of medical data and representative surveys.

Health insurer hkk Krankenkasse has released a series of health reports shedding light on the health habits and attitudes of German consumers. The reports, which draw on analyses of medical billing data and population-representative surveys, offer insights into lifestyle, healthcare utilization, and consumer perspectives.
One key report, based on a forsa survey of approximately 1,000 German adults, found that nearly half (49%) frequently catch themselves procrastinating. Another 41% often wait for the "right mood" before starting tasks, while 35% tend to do things at the last minute or get easily distracted.
Further findings reveal that almost half of German adults have used home self-testing kits in the past year, viewing them as a useful supplement rather than a replacement for medical care. Satisfaction with primary care physicians remains high at 91%, though there are expressed desires for improved digitalization and coordination, alongside concerns about waiting times.
The reports also delve into other areas, including birth experiences, the "mental load" carried by mothers, and the use and understanding of pain medication. A separate study examines men's mental health, highlighting challenges and attitudes toward seeking help.
Hkk Krankenkasse collaborates with independent research institutes to conduct these studies, aiming to provide evidence-based information on healthcare trends and promote a better understanding of factors influencing health behaviors.
