HKTDC Selects 10 Winners at Start-up Express Competition

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) announced 10 winning startups from its ninth annual Start-up Express competition, following a Final Pitching Day on June 25, 2026. The selected companies operate across sectors including smart city solutions, green technology, and health tech, indicating a trend towards practical applications of emerging technologies.

BioZein Technology Corporation Limited received the ESG Award for its commitment to sustainability, while Homing Therapeutics Limited was honored with the My Favourite Start-up Award. The 10 winning startups will participate in a series of HKTDC-organized events to build capabilities, explore markets, seek funding, and enhance brand visibility.

Launched in 2018, Start-up Express aims to foster the growth of Hong Kong's startup scene by providing platforms for market visibility and international expansion. To date, the program has supported 80 startups in developing their businesses and connecting with investors and partners.

According to judge Jimmy Tao, Chairman of the Hong Kong Startup Council, the quality of participating startups continues to improve annually, with many integrating AI and other innovative technologies into commercially viable applications. Hong Kong's startup ecosystem has shown robust growth, with the number of startups increasing by 11% to 5,221 in 2025.
