HMS Networks has detailed the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) data capabilities of its Ewon Flexy device, enabling process data extraction and manipulation both locally and in the cloud.

The advancements address the growing industrial demand for on-demand IIoT data access, reducing the need for additional software. Ewon devices, historically known for remote access, are expanding their functionality into core IIoT implementations.

Key features include multiple APIs such as Talk2m API, M2web API, and Datamailbox API. Talk2m API offers flexibility for IoT application development with JSON data support. M2web API provides direct, real-time access to devices via secure HTTPS. The Datamailbox API focuses on historical trended data, allowing retrieval of large data sets without requiring a public-facing database.

Further integration includes MQTT protocol support for efficient, near real-time data transfer. HMS Networks also provides development engines like BASIC scripting and Java SE support for custom applications. The Ewon Flexy can host custom web pages for direct data visualization on the device, improving efficiency and reducing reliance on external connectivity.
