HMS Networks is presenting four flexible solutions for implementing functional safety in industrial and mobile machinery. These new products are designed to cater to diverse product architectures, team capabilities, and time-to-market objectives.

The offering includes the Safe2Link Remote IO-CS module, which provides a fast and easy method for adding functional safety I/O points to machines. It is IP54-rated and supports CIP Safety over EtherNet/IP, featuring advanced safety functions like combining local and remote safety signals and enabling a controlled stop process. The product is certified to SIL3 / PLe standards.

Another option is the Safe2Link Pure IO/CS, an embedded hardware solution with enhanced safety features. This is particularly suited for OEMs building advanced mobile machines or logistics equipment that require a compact, integrated solution. This component supports both CIP Safety and PROFIsafe protocols.

Both Safe2Link models incorporate the SafeBound™ feature, which consolidates local and remote safety signals within the device, and the Safe Stop Category 1 (SS1-t) for controlled shutdown.

HMS Networks also offers the T100 safety hardware, an embedded component with standard safety features. This is ideal for factory automation device manufacturers looking to integrate safety functions into their equipment, such as nutrunners or welding controllers. The fourth option is a software-based solution for expert teams designing safety systems from scratch, supporting CIP Safety and FSoE protocols.
