Holmen enhances forest harvesting production in Västernorrland
Swedish forestry company Holmen is intensifying its operations in the Södra Västernorrland purchasing area. The company focuses on quality and collaboration to ensure raw material supply for its industries.

Holmen is strengthening its production management in the newly established Södra Västernorrland purchasing area within the Västernorrland region.
The company aims to secure a consistent supply of raw materials for its own industries and those of its customers. A key focus is on maintaining high quality in both its own forestry operations and in the harvesting work carried out for forest-owning clients. Holmen emphasizes that effective collaboration, both within the department and with other colleagues, is essential for achieving these quality standards.
Sandra, a production manager at Holmen Skog, oversees the operations involving six contractor machine teams. Her responsibilities include planning timber extraction sites and forest roads, as well as monitoring contractor performance to ensure quality and efficiency.
"Working in the field fosters closer collaboration with our contractors and provides a comprehensive overview of current challenges. This enables better decision-making and makes the work more varied and rewarding," Sandra states.
Holmen highlights its connection to nature and commitment to sustainability. The company also emphasizes opportunities for professional development within the organization, aiming to be an attractive employer in the sector.
