Holmen reports decline in operating profit for first nine months of 2026
Forestry group Holmen posted an operating profit of SEK 2,066 million for the January-September period. The result was impacted by declining performance across several business areas despite growth in energy production.

Holmen reported an operating profit of SEK 2,066 million for the first nine months of 2026, down from SEK 2,531 million in the same period last year. Net sales for the nine-month period reached SEK 16,049 million, reflecting a challenging market environment for the company’s core industrial segments.
The group's performance was uneven across its portfolio. While profits from hydro and wind power assets increased, other business areas saw a decline in profitability. The third quarter specifically was impacted by a planned maintenance shutdown at the Iggesund Mill, which contributed to an operating profit of SEK 549 million for that period.
Despite the decline, Holmen maintained a conservative capital structure. Net debt decreased to SEK 5,810 million, representing 11 percent of equity. Earnings per share for the first nine months stood at SEK 10.0, compared to SEK 14.7 during the previous year's comparable period.
