Holmen Reports Increased Operating Profit for First Quarter
Forest industry company Holmen AB reported an operating profit of SEK 988 million for January-March 2025. The profit increase was driven by higher deliveries of paperboard and paper, alongside reduced energy costs.

Holmen AB announced that its operating profit for the first quarter of 2025 reached SEK 988 million, maintaining an operating margin of 17 percent, consistent with the same period in 2024.
The company's operating profit saw an increase of SEK 272 million compared to the fourth quarter of 2024. This improvement is attributed to higher deliveries of paperboard and paper, lower energy costs, and a diminished impact from planned production shutdowns.
Profit after tax for the January-March period amounted to SEK 752 million, compared to SEK 744 million in the prior year's first quarter. Earnings per share were SEK 4.8, up from SEK 4.7. The company also repurchased its own shares for SEK 119 million during the quarter.
Holmen's Board of Directors has decided to exercise the authorization granted at the 2025 Annual General Meeting to buy back the company's own shares. As of the end of the first quarter, the book value of Holmen's forest assets was reported at SEK 58,098 million.
