Swedish forest industry group Holmen reported an operating profit of SEK 1,516 million for the first half of 2026. This represents a decrease compared to the SEK 1,794 million recorded in the corresponding period of 2025. The operating margin declined to 12 percent from 16 percent.

The company's industrial activities saw a decrease in profit during the reporting period. However, earnings from hydro and wind power operations increased significantly, helping to offset the overall decline. While higher deliveries of board and paper contributed to mitigating the profit reduction, lower electricity prices in northern Sweden negatively impacted the second quarter's results compared to the previous quarter.

Profit after tax for the January-June period amounted to SEK 1,127 million, resulting in earnings per share of SEK 7.4. In the same period of 2025, profit after tax was SEK 1,354 million, with earnings per share at SEK 8.6.

During the second quarter, Holmen paid dividends totaling SEK 1,458 million and repurchased 3 million shares, representing 2 percent of the total number of shares. The company's net debt stood at SEK 6,482 million at the end of the quarter, equivalent to 12 percent of its equity.
