Forest industry group Holmen reported an operating profit of SEK 2,531 million for the first nine months of 2025, a decrease from SEK 3,005 million in the same period of 2024. The operating margin consequently declined to 15 percent from 17 percent.

The company stated that the reduction in earnings was due to two significant maintenance shutdowns in its Board and Paper divisions, along with lower electricity prices in northern Sweden. In the third quarter specifically, operating profit decreased by SEK 70 million to SEK 737 million, influenced by lower selling prices within the Wood Products segment.

Profit after tax for the January-September period amounted to SEK 2,298 million, slightly down from SEK 2,304 million in the prior year, resulting in earnings per share of SEK 14.7 compared to SEK 14.5. A positive impact on the Group's profit after tax during the third quarter came from a SEK 395 million court decision granting tax deductions related to former operations in Spain.

Holmen also repurchased its own shares for SEK 1,298 million during the January-September period, representing 2.0 percent of the total number of shares.
