Holmen Reports Lower Operating Profit for Q1 2026
Holmen's operating profit for the first quarter of 2026 decreased to SEK 827 million, down from SEK 988 million in the same period last year. Renewable energy segments saw increased profits.

Holmen, a forest industry company, reported an operating profit of SEK 827 million for the January-March 2026 period. This represents a decrease from the SEK 988 million recorded in the first quarter of 2025. Net sales for the period were SEK 5,473 million.
The decline in operating profit was primarily attributed to weaker results in the company's wood products and paper businesses. Conversely, the company's renewable energy operations, including hydro and wind power, experienced a significant increase in profitability. EBITDA for the quarter stood at SEK 1,177 million.
Holmen's profit after tax amounted to SEK 618 million, resulting in earnings per share of SEK 4.0 for the period. The company's Annual General Meeting approved a dividend of SEK 9.5 per share, which was distributed in April.
The company noted an operating margin of 15 percent for the first quarter.
