Forestry group Holmen reported an operating profit of SEK 827 million for the first quarter of 2026, a decrease from SEK 988 million in the corresponding period of 2025. The operating margin stood at 15 percent.
Profit from Holmen’s industrial operations declined during the quarter. However, earnings from its hydro and wind power assets increased substantially, partially offsetting the overall decrease. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2025, operating profit rose by SEK 88 million due to strong performance in renewable energy, despite a weaker result from the board and paper segments.
Profit after tax amounted to SEK 618 million, compared to SEK 752 million in the first quarter of 2025. Earnings per share were SEK 4.0, up from SEK 3.8 in the prior year. The Annual General Meeting approved a dividend of SEK 9.5 per share, totaling SEK 1,458 million, which was paid in April.
The book value of Holmen's forest assets was SEK 56,908 million. The company’s net financial debt was SEK 4,186 million at the end of the quarter.
