Holocaust Memorial Husum-Schwesing Receives One Million Euros in EU Funding
The Holocaust Memorial Husum-Schwesing has received approximately one million euros in EU funding. The funds are designated for the construction of a new annex, which will include event and group work spaces.

The Holocaust Memorial Husum-Schwesing in Schleswig-Holstein has been awarded approximately one million euros in EU funding. The funding decision was formally presented on Friday and is intended to support the construction of a new extension to the memorial site.
The planned extension will feature an event hall and group work areas capable of accommodating up to 90 people, expanding the existing "Haus der Gegenwart" (House of the Present) facility. The German federal government had previously supported the construction project with a grant of 1.5 million euros in 2023.
Located in the Nordfriesland district, the Husum-Schwesing memorial serves as a critical site for remembrance and education about the history of the Nazi era. The expansion aims to enhance the facilities for public engagement and historical understanding.
