Holzwerke Ladenburger has commissioned a new biomass power plant at its Kerkingen facility. The plant utilizes bark from its wood processing operations to generate electricity and heat for the site.

Holzwerke Ladenburger has announced the successful commissioning of its latest biomass power plant at its Kerkingen site in Germany. This new facility will generate electricity and heat from bark resulting from the company's wood processing operations. The energy produced will be used to power the company's sawmill, drying facility, and new pellet plant.
The investment is part of the company's strategy to enhance efficiency and promote a carbon-neutral future. The company also emphasizes the importance of utilizing wood as a sustainable raw material for combating climate change and participates in the "Holz rettet Klima" (Wood Saves Climate) initiative.
In addition to the power plant, Holzwerke Ladenburger has expanded its production capabilities at its Bopfingen facility with a new plant for manufacturing glued laminated timber (Brettschichtholz, BSH). This investment totals approximately EUR 15 million and is expected to create around 20 new jobs, with a production capacity of up to 45,000 cubic meters annually.
The company's operations are further complemented by a new pellet factory, designed to utilize all raw materials and residual products, aiming to achieve a more complete wood utilization cycle.
Holzwerke Ladenburger continues to invest in the development of the wood processing industry and the promotion of sustainable solutions.
