Hong Kong Digital Bank WeLab Reports 8% Revenue Increase in H1 2026
Hong Kong-based digital bank WeLab Bank announced an 8% year-on-year revenue increase for the first half of 2026, reaching HK$492 million. Growth was driven by expansion in lending, wealth management, and multi-currency services.

WeLab Bank, a digital bank operating in Hong Kong, reported its revenue grew approximately 8% year-on-year in the first half of 2026, reaching HK$492 million (US$62.7 million). The bank attributed this growth to increased activity in its lending, wealth management, and multi-currency services.
The bank's net interest income saw an 8.4% rise, totaling HK$466 million (US$59.3 million). WeLab Bank also stated that its retail loan portfolio exceeded HK$6.1 billion (US$777 million), and that its net interest income and net interest margin ranked highest among digital banks in Hong Kong.
During the reporting period, WeLab Bank invested roughly HK$20 million (US$2.55 million) in technology, artificial intelligence, and product development. Without these investments, the bank indicated it would have reported an adjusted profit of approximately HK$14.6 million (US$1.86 million).
Assets under management on WeLab Bank's GoWealth platform nearly doubled compared to the previous year. Additionally, multi-currency deposits increased by 87% from the end of 2025, supported by foreign exchange and overseas spending services. Digital banks in Hong Kong operate under the regulatory framework established by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.
