Hong Kong Research Arm Flair Opens Embodied AI Applications Hub
Hong Kong's research arm Flair has opened a new hub for embodied AI systems and humanoid robots, aiming to bridge the gap between lab research and commercial applications.

Flair, the AI and robotics research arm of the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), officially opened its embodied AI applications hub in Hong Kong on October 15. The facility is dedicated to training and testing embodied AI systems and humanoid robots for various sectors.
The hub will provide real-world environments for AI model training, system validation, and scenario testing. Its primary objective is to facilitate the transition of embodied AI projects from laboratory research to commercial deployment, targeting industries such as manufacturing, logistics, retail, and public services.
In its initial phase, the hub has engaged seven technology partners, including Robotera, Unitree Robotics, and Rice Robotics, alongside eight international scenario partners. This collaborative effort is expected to accelerate the development and adoption of embodied AI solutions.
The opening ceremony was attended by Hong Kong's Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, Sun Dong. The HKPC is a statutory body established to promote industrial development and enhance the competitiveness of Hong Kong industries through the adoption of new technologies.
