Hong Kong's Rice Robotics Joins Embodied AI Hub

Rice Robotics, a Hong Kong-based firm specializing in AI and robotics, announced on October 16th its entry into the Embodied AI International Applications Hub. The company is indirectly majority-owned by Axonex AI Group.

As part of this initiative, Rice Robotics has also signed an agreement with the Hong Kong Industrial Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Centre (FLAIR). The collaboration aims to advance education and manufacturing applications for embodied AI technologies, including humanoid robots. This will involve practical training and scenario validation for these systems.

On the same day, Rice Robotics launched Tomo, a wheeled humanoid robot primarily designed for educational purposes. The robot will contribute to the validation of embodied AI systems in real-world contexts.

The FLAIR hub for embodied AI applications was officially launched on October 15th, described as Hong Kong's first of its kind. This development aligns with broader industry trends, including China's significant push into the robotics sector with a focus on embodied AI.
