Honor Aims for Mobile Photography Leadership by 2027
Honor unveiled new cinematic imaging technologies developed with ARRI, aiming to secure a top-tier position in mobile photography this year and achieve significant differentiation by 2027.

Chinese technology company Honor held an imaging technology conference in Zhejiang on July 28, showcasing its cinematic imaging technology path developed in collaboration with the German film equipment brand ARRI.
According to Luo Wei, Honor's chief imaging engineer, the company has made significant improvements in areas like image stabilization, brightness, color, and color consistency, addressing key user pain points. He stated that Honor's imaging is now "firmly in the industry's first tier," having completed its initial phase of development.
Looking ahead, Wei outlined Honor's strategy for 2026, focusing on establishing a clear differentiation in video capture. This involves enhancing features such as intelligent composition, shooting guidance, and smart panorama, creating a comprehensive user experience. The partnership with ARRI aims to integrate cinematic aesthetic standards and color science into mobile imaging.
"We hope to firmly establish ourselves in the first tier of the industry this year. By 2027, we believe it will be the year we truly pull ahead," Wei announced. He indicated that Honor plans to redesign sensors and chips, embedding core algorithms directly into the hardware to improve light capture capabilities.
The Honor Robot Phone, launched at the event, features the self-developed imaging chip "Honor Yuguang H1." This device marks the first product resulting from the Honor-ARRI strategic partnership, incorporating ARRI Log-C encoding and LUT color files into a mobile platform. The main camera's CMOS sensor measures 1/1.28 inches.
