Chinese technology firm Honor has announced its July software update for its MagicOS-powered tablets, bringing a range of new features and improvements to its user interface and device connectivity.

The update's headline feature is an expansion of the YOYO virtual assistant's capabilities, specifically its support for WeChat. Users can now utilize WeChat's A2A assistant functionality through YOYO, allowing them to send messages or initiate voice and video calls using voice commands.

YOYO also gains new entertainment features, including the ability to convert photos into comic book-style narratives and new "blind box" style interactive games. Beyond the assistant, the OS incorporates new "end-to-end" transition effects across various system interactions, from Control Center long-presses to app launching in floating windows.

Cross-device functionality has also seen significant upgrades. Screen sharing now supports a 120FPS refresh rate for smoother display mirroring between Honor tablets and PCs. File management between devices is enhanced with an automatic re-transfer feature, allowing users to edit files on a Mac via Honor Super Workbench and have changes automatically sync back to the tablet.

The update addresses other areas, including improved battery life for certain scenarios, enhanced system stability, and fixes for third-party app crashes. The rollout has begun for several Honor tablet models, with more expected to receive the update throughout July.
