Hopecam founder Len Forkas will undertake the "Great World Race" from November 15-21, running seven marathons on seven continents in seven consecutive days. The event, part of Hopecam's "183 Miles of Hope" campaign, aims to raise $183,000 for children battling cancer. Each marathon will be dedicated to a child supported by Hopecam, and Forkas plans to share their stories throughout the challenge.

Founded in 2003, Hopecam provides technology and resources to help children with cancer stay connected to their classrooms, friends, and communities during treatment. The organization highlights that the average child diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. misses approximately 136-180 school days annually, leading to significant feelings of isolation.

"When a child is diagnosed with cancer, everything changes," Forkas stated. "I want every mile I run to remind people that while these children are fighting cancer, they should not have to feel disconnected or forgotten." Hopecam reports it has connected over 6,500 children with cancer to their classmates and peers.

This endurance challenge builds upon Forkas' history of similar events for Hopecam, including summiting Mount Everest in 2025. Updates and stories from the "Great World Race" will be shared on Hopecam's website, where individuals and organizations can also find information on donations and sponsorship opportunities.
