Horizon Air Pilots to Picket in Idaho
Horizon Air pilots, represented by Teamsters Local 1224, will hold an informational picket on Wednesday, Oct. 14, to urge the airline to end delays and agree to a fair contract.

Boise, Idaho – Horizon Air pilots, represented by Teamsters Local 1224, are scheduled to hold an informational picket on Wednesday, October 14, at 10:30 a.m. The action aims to pressure the airline to cease delaying tactics and reach a fair contract agreement.
The group of nearly 650 pilots has been in negotiations for a collective bargaining agreement for close to four years. Their demands focus on addressing issues related to wages, staffing, training shortages, and operational concerns.
Pilots at Horizon Air, a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group, undertake a volume of flying comparable to their sister carrier, Alaska Airlines. However, their compensation reportedly lags behind industry standards, which the union attributes to the company's reluctance to negotiate a fair deal. Teamsters allege a pattern of mismanagement and corporate greed has hampered the negotiation process.
The picket will take place at the Boise Airport Lower Roadway, located at 3201 W Airport Way #1000, Boise, ID 83705. Flight attendants from Horizon Air and members of the Association of Flight Attendants are also expected to join the demonstration.
