Horizon Air Pilots to Picket Over Contract Negotiations
Horizon Air pilots plan to picket at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Wednesday, demanding a fair contract after nearly four years of negotiations. The pilots cite issues with wages, staffing, and training.

Seattle – Horizon Air pilots, represented by Teamsters Local 1224, are scheduled to hold an informational picket on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The action aims to pressure the airline to end perceived delay tactics and reach a fair collective bargaining agreement.
The pilots have been in contract negotiations for nearly four years, seeking an agreement that addresses concerns regarding wages, staffing shortages, training deficits, and operational issues. The union represents approximately 650 pilots.
Horizon Air pilots, whose employer is a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group, perform a volume of flying comparable to their counterparts at sister carrier Alaska Airlines. However, the union asserts that Horizon Air pilots' compensation lags behind industry standards due to the company's negotiation stance.
Several other aviation worker unions are expected to participate in solidarity, including representatives from aircraft mechanics, flight attendants, and dispatchers. The picket is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. Pacific Time.
