Hospitality Firm PRISM Posts 17 Percent Profit Growth in Q1

PRISM, the parent company of hospitality chain OYO, reported a consolidated net profit of 353 crore rupees for the first quarter of the 2026-27 fiscal year. This represents a 17.3 percent increase from the 301 crore rupees recorded during the same period in the previous year. The profit figure was significantly bolstered by a deferred tax credit of approximately 244 crore rupees.

Operational performance remained strong, with revenue growing 35 percent to 2,814 crore rupees. EBITDA also rose by 24.3 percent to reach 760 crore rupees. The company's gross booking value for the quarter ending in June stood at nearly 9,600 crore rupees, up from 7,408 crore rupees in the prior year's first quarter, signaling continued expansion in its hotel and vacation home segments.

CEO Ritesh Agarwal attributed the results to long-term investments in technology and distribution networks. Originally founded in 2012 as a budget hotel chain, the company has diversified into corporate stays, coworking spaces, and holiday homes across 35 countries.

PRISM is currently moving toward an initial public offering. Having received approval from India's Securities and Exchange Board (SEBI), the company plans a fresh share issue targeting 6,650 crore rupees. Financial analysts estimate the startup is seeking a valuation between 7 billion and 8 billion dollars for the public listing.
