Hotwire Communications to Deploy Nokia Network Infrastructure in North Carolina

Hotwire Communications has contracted Nokia to upgrade its network infrastructure in North Carolina. The deployment aims to establish an AI-ready architecture capable of supporting increasing data traffic and performance demands from enterprise and residential customers.

The project utilizes the Nokia 7750 Service Router to integrate IP routing and optical capabilities within a single platform. This consolidation is intended to reduce the number of discrete network elements, thereby lowering operational complexity while improving power efficiency and cooling requirements.

According to Pragash Pillai, Chief Technology Officer at Hotwire Communications, the transition to this new architecture is a strategic step to reduce latency and accommodate the expected growth in AI-driven traffic. The network is scheduled to go live in early 2027.
