Hovmand Delivers Lifting Aids to Karamel Kompagniet

Hovmand A/S, a manufacturer of lifting equipment, has supplied solutions to Karamel Kompagniet, a Danish producer of gourmet caramels. The new equipment aims to reduce physically demanding tasks in the caramel production process.

Karamel Kompagniet, based on the island of Bornholm, has experienced growing demand for its handmade caramels. The traditional production involves significant heavy lifting, which has historically placed strain on employees' backs and shoulders. To address this, the company has invested in two different lifting aids from Hovmand.

One solution features a special tilting vessel for handling caramel mass weighing up to 70 kg. This equipment allows for the safe and effortless transfer of the hot mass onto the cooling table. A second device, nicknamed the "gyro," is a flexible lifting system enabling a single employee to easily move large caramel blocks from the cooling table to the rolling machine. The "gyro" is also utilized for transporting heavy sacks of sugar.

Anna Knightbridge, Owner and Managing Director of Karamel Kompagniet, stated that the lifting aids have significantly simplified work processes and reduced physical exertion. She indicated that the company may consider further investments as production continues to expand.

The implementation of these lifting aids has improved the working environment and increased daily productivity at Karamel Kompagniet's facility, where up to 100,000 caramels are produced by hand each day.
