Hoymiles Launches 22 kW V2X DC Charger for Home Energy Ecosystem

Chinese company Hoymiles has launched a new 22 kW V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) DC charger, designed to extend its home energy ecosystem to encompass electric vehicle charging and energy utilization.

The charging unit is engineered to work in conjunction with Hoymiles' HiOne All-in-One Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). This integration allows for electric vehicles to be charged directly from solar power or energy stored within the home. Conversely, the electric car's battery can be used to power the house's needs when grid electricity is insufficient or expensive.

The technology aims to enhance household energy savings and self-sufficiency. The V2X functionality enables the electric car to act as a flexible energy storage solution, potentially helping to balance the fluctuating output of renewable energy sources like solar panels. This could also provide additional revenue streams for EV owners if energy can be sold back to the grid based on demand.

Hoymiles has historically focused on inverters for solar power systems and energy storage solutions. The introduction of the V2X charger represents a logical expansion of the company's offering for integrated home energy management.
