HP Omen 15 Gaming Laptop Priced Higher Than Predecessor
HP's new Omen 15 gaming laptop replaces the previous, more budget-friendly Victus 15 model. A significant price increase positions the new model as a less accessible option for budget-conscious gamers.

HP's latest Omen 15 gaming laptop is launching at a higher price point than its predecessor, the popular Victus 15. The Victus 15 had previously served as an entry-level option for gaming laptops, often available for around $800.
The Omen 15 does include several upgrades over the Victus 15. It features an RTX 5050 Laptop GPU capable of running recent games, albeit at lower settings. Additionally, it boasts a brighter 16:10 aspect ratio display with a higher refresh rate and a 1080p webcam, enhancing its utility beyond gaming.
However, the Omen 15 starts at $1,200, a substantial increase from the Victus 15's starting price of approximately $800. This price hike, influenced by factors such as global RAM availability, makes the Omen 15 a more significant investment.
While the Omen 15 offers improved specifications, the elevated cost may challenge its competitiveness in the budget gaming laptop segment, where affordability is a key purchasing driver.
