HPQ Silicium Partner Novacium Receives Drone Battery Order

HPQ Silicium Inc. announced that its strategic partner, Novacium, has received a commercial order for more than 100 AA NOVA 6S3P 15,000 mAh battery packs from Alta Ares. Alta Ares, a European counter-drone company, will use the battery packs to power its X-Lock interceptor drone.

This marks the first commercial order for Novacium's silicon-based anode technology in an interceptor drone system. The X-Lock drone is a short- to medium-range quadcopter developed with AI software. Alta Ares was selected by France's Directorate General of Armaments (DGA) as part of the ELISA innovation partnership.

Novacium and Alta Ares collaborated for nearly six months on the development, which included a successful prototype test campaign in July 2026. The new AA NOVA battery pack is lighter than Alta Ares' previous reference battery due to an optimized design and the higher energy density of Novacium's silicon-based cells.

This order further integrates Novacium into the European defense sector, following a previous order for drone battery packs for the French Army. The company is also in discussions for potential defense projects and with NATO regarding energy autonomy for armed forces.
