Huawei and China Eastern Airlines Partner on In-Flight Connectivity
Huawei and China Eastern Airlines have launched a system-level collaboration to enhance in-flight Wi-Fi access. This partnership enables Huawei phones running HarmonyOS 7.0 to connect to the airline's Wi-Fi with a single tap.
Chinese technology giant Huawei has partnered with China Eastern Airlines to improve the in-flight internet experience. The collaboration allows Huawei smartphones equipped with the HarmonyOS 7.0 operating system to connect to the airline's Wi-Fi network with a simplified, one-tap process.
This new feature eliminates the need for passengers to download separate applications or navigate through web portals to access internet services during flights. The aim is to provide a more seamless and user-friendly connectivity experience for travelers.
Additionally, purchasers of Huawei's flagship devices, including the Mate 90 series and Mate XT2 models, will receive one year of complimentary premium in-flight Wi-Fi service. This benefit is tiered based on the specific high-end model purchased, offering different speed tiers.
Users are instructed to enable airplane mode after takeoff and connect to the 'CEAIR-WiFi' network. A system prompt should appear for authentication via the HarmonyOS service. If the prompt does not display automatically, users can access the network by visiting www.muflyer.com through their web browser.
The partnership integrates Huawei's technology ecosystem into air travel, aiming to offer enhanced digital services for passengers and signifying a move towards more connected travel experiences.
