Huawei and Partners Launch AI City Development Alliance

Huawei, along with 14 partners, has launched the Global AI CITY Innovation & Development Ecosystem Alliance during the recent Global Government AI CITY Innovation Summit in Shanghai. The summit, themed "Digitalize & Innovate Cities, AI Delivers Value to All Nations," gathered over 500 participants to discuss the role of AI and data in enhancing city governance and services.

Simon Zou, Huawei's Vice President of Government Public Services Digitalization BU, highlighted how AI agents are improving urban safety and public services. He presented examples from Shenzhen and Shantou, showcasing AI's application in security monitoring and streamlining citizen services. Huawei also introduced its AI CITY solution, built on OpenHarmony and Ascend AI.

Additionally, Huawei and China's State Information Center released the "AI CITY Development Research Report 2026," which outlines an AI City paradigm and proposes a shift from data-driven to "city super agent" models.

The alliance aims to create an open ecosystem for digital and intelligent cities through collaboration in computing, data circulation, and scenario innovation. Founding members include TIS, Egabi Solution, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
