Huawei and Chinese automaker Seres have formalized a new five-year cooperation agreement aimed at enhancing their joint venture for Aito-branded intelligent electric vehicles. The signing ceremony took place in Shenzhen on September 30.

The renewed partnership will see the establishment of a dedicated team focused on the Aito business. Both companies stated their intention to elevate the Aito brand within the premium intelligent vehicle segment and improve the overall user experience. This collaboration is expected to contribute to the high-quality development of China's automotive industry.

The Aito brand currently boasts over 1.2 million users. Previous reports indicated a division of responsibilities where Seres leads product definition, design, marketing, and retail, while Huawei provides technological enablement, including software and smart driving systems.

Seres Chairman Zhang Xinghai has previously characterized the evolving partnership as an "upgrade" to their model, emphasizing the move towards exclusive operations to further position the brand in the luxury market.
