Huawei Cloud to discontinue openPangu-2.0-Flash and Pro models
Huawei Cloud will cease sales of its openPangu-2.0-Flash and Pro AI models on November 6, with full service termination scheduled for November 30.
Huawei Cloud has announced the retirement of its openPangu-2.0-Flash and openPangu-2.0-Pro model services. Sales of these models will conclude on November 6, 2026, and all access via the Model as a Service (MaaS) platform will be terminated on November 30, 2026.
The company has advised current users to initiate migration to alternative models before the cutoff date. Huawei Cloud suggests that users of the Flash version transition to DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash-1017, while Pro users are encouraged to evaluate GLM-5.3. The company emphasizes that users must assess performance, API parameters, and pricing structures, as these metrics vary between different providers.
While the current versions are being sunset, Huawei confirmed that future iterations of the Pangu series are under development. Details regarding the roadmap for these upcoming models have not yet been disclosed. The Pangu series remains a core component of Huawei’s enterprise-facing AI infrastructure, providing foundational capabilities for developers.
