Huawei executive identifies data transparency as key to autonomous driving adoption
Huawei’s Jin Yuzhi stated that user trust built on verified driving data is essential for the transition from driver assistance to large-scale autonomous vehicle deployment.
Speaking at the 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference, Huawei Senior Vice President and Yinwang CEO Jin Yuzhi outlined the shift toward autonomous driving as the next phase of automotive intelligence. Jin argued that as the industry moves away from driver-supervised systems, the liability for safety transfers to the technology, making verifiable data the cornerstone of market adoption.
Jin highlighted three major trends currently shaping the sector: the evolution from partial assistance to full autonomy, heightened safety requirements, and the fundamental restructuring of transport paradigms. For Huawei, demonstrating consistent performance through real-world operational data is the primary vehicle for gaining user acceptance.
Huawei reports that its Qiankun intelligent driving system has surpassed 16.9 billion kilometers in accumulated testing and usage. The company continues to position its technology stack as an industry-standard infrastructure provider, following the achievement of two million users for its dedicated application.
