Huawei FreeBuds Neo Wireless Earbuds Launch with HarmonyOS 7

Huawei has officially launched its latest wireless earbuds, the FreeBuds Neo, on September 29. The earbuds are powered by HarmonyOS 7 and feature intelligent noise cancellation technology. They are available for purchase with an initial price of 669 yuan (approximately $92 USD), with a special student discount bringing the price down to 639 yuan (approximately $88 USD). The earbuds come in four color options: Stellar Silver, Nebula Pink, Zero Degree White, and Starlight Black.

The design of the FreeBuds Neo emphasizes ergonomics, with the charging case inspired by a "flying saucer" shape and the earbuds featuring a "glowing little stem" design. Each earbud weighs a mere 4.8 grams, and the touch-sensitive control area covers 60% of the stem.

Internally, the earbuds are equipped with Huawei's self-developed third-generation AI audio chip, featuring a dual DSP architecture and an NPU processor. This setup enables intelligent, adaptive noise cancellation, which analyzes ambient noise up to 400,000 times per second with a latency of just 8 microseconds. Huawei claims the noise cancellation can achieve a depth of up to 30dB across the full frequency range.

Battery life for the FreeBuds Neo is rated at 6.5 hours with noise cancellation enabled and 10 hours with it turned off. The earbuds also support "Star Light Audio" technology, offering a 16 Mbps transmission rate for 48kHz/24bit lossless audio and a range of up to 170 meters. Users can control and adjust settings via the Huawei Smart Audio app, compatible with HarmonyOS, Android, and iOS devices.
