IT Home reported on July 2 that Huawei has commenced the rollout of its HarmonyOS 7.0.0.23 SP52 Developer Beta. The update, weighing in at approximately 2.59GB, is specifically designated for developers to facilitate the testing and development of new application programming interfaces (APIs).
HarmonyOS 7, which supports API 26, was officially launched on June 12. Concurrently, Huawei initiated a public recruitment for developers to join the beta program. Additionally, the HarmonyOS Development Kit version 26.0.0 Beta 1 was released during the Huawei Developer Conference (HDC) 2026.
The initial developer beta for HarmonyOS 7 (API 26) includes support for several Huawei device models. These comprise the HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro, HUAWEI Mate X7, HUAWEI Mate XTs, HUAWEI Pura 90 Pro Max, HUAWEI Pura X (including its Executive Edition), and the HUAWEI nova 15 Pro.
This new beta release provides the developer community with an opportunity to utilize and test the features of HarmonyOS 7 ahead of its broader release, aiming to accelerate the development of new applications for the platform.
