Huawei Introduces OceanStor M900 AI Memory Storage

Shanghai – Huawei officially launched the OceanStor M900 storage system at the HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 conference on September 18, 2026. According to the company, the new system is engineered to accelerate AI workflows, particularly within hyperscale data centers.
David Wang, Huawei's vice chairman and rotating chairman of the board, stated that the OceanStor M900 utilizes context-awareness to improve data access speeds. This feature aims to significantly reduce training and inference times for AI models. The system integrates memory and storage on the same tier, enabling faster data transfers.
The technology is expected to impact data center performance as AI adoption grows. Accelerated data processing could support larger and more complex AI applications that require substantial computing power and rapid data access.
Huawei indicated that the OceanStor M900 is designed for scalability to meet the increasing demands of large-scale data centers. The company did not provide specific details on delivery timelines or pricing at the time of the announcement.
