Huawei launches HarmonyOS 7 beta program for tablet range
Huawei has initiated a beta testing phase for HarmonyOS 7 across its tablet lineup, introducing remote sharing capabilities and system-level performance enhancements.
Huawei has opened the beta program for its HarmonyOS 7 operating system to several tablet models, including the MatePad Pro 13.2, 12.2, and the 11-inch 2024 variants. This rollout follows the company's strategy to integrate updated software features across its hardware ecosystem.
The update, designated as version 111, adds functionality such as remote file sharing, 3D spatial wallpapers, and a new dictionary pen tool. A significant focus of this version is enhanced cross-device connectivity, allowing for collaborative network sharing and simplified remote assistance between family devices. The AI assistant, Celia, has also received memory improvements, enabling it to manage more complex scheduling and device control tasks.
Performance gains are central to this release, with the introduction of new storage and memory management technologies designed to optimize space and background process efficiency. Security updates include real-time AI detection for synthetic voice scams during calls.
This beta phase allows early adopters to test features before a wider public release, as Huawei continues to refine its software layer to compete in the tablet and mobile operating system market.
