Huawei Launches Intelligent RAIL 2.0 for Global Railway Advancement
Huawei has introduced its new generation of solutions, Intelligent RAIL 2.0, aimed at advancing the global railway industry. The solutions focus on key areas including construction, transport, and maintenance.
Huawei unveiled its Intelligent RAIL 2.0 solution generation at InnoTrans 2026, the global rail transport trade fair held in Berlin. The company stated the new offerings are designed to promote the intelligent development of the worldwide railway sector across various scenarios.
The launch event included participation from industry bodies such as the International Union of Railways (UIC) and the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), alongside global customers and ecosystem partners. UIC director Jean-Michel Evanghelou highlighted the importance of FRMCS for building a solid digital foundation for railway operators and the increasing need for standardization in AI applications.
Raymond Zuo, President of Huawei's Smart Rail BU, presented the company's "intelligent RAIL" innovation strategy. This strategy leverages digital and intelligent technologies to enhance safety, automation, integrated services, and long-term development in railways. Intelligent RAIL 2.0 comprises 20 scenario-based solutions targeting challenges in construction, passenger and freight transport, and equipment maintenance.
Developed in collaboration with partners, these solutions see Huawei focusing on communications and digital platforms while partners specialize in industry applications. Huawei reports supporting over 50 major railway clients globally, covering more than 180,000 kilometers of track. The company plans to continue its platform + ecosystem strategy, deepening collaboration to integrate advanced technologies into railway applications for a safer, more efficient, and greener future.
