Huawei Launches Intelligent RAIL 2.0 to Accelerate Global Railway Digitalization
Huawei unveiled its next-generation Intelligent RAIL 2.0 solutions at InnoTrans 2026, aiming to advance the global railway sector's digitalization and adoption of intelligent applications.
Berlin – Huawei introduced its new generation of Intelligent RAIL 2.0 solutions at the InnoTrans 2026 trade fair. The technology company aims to accelerate the digitalization of the global railway sector and the implementation of intelligent systems.
At the event, which gathered key industry organizations such as the International Union of Railways (UIC) and the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), Huawei highlighted the significance of intelligent technologies for railway development. Raymond Zuo, President of Huawei's Smart Rail BU, stated that the move towards an intelligent era necessitates addressing traditional challenges through digital and intelligent technologies.
The Intelligent RAIL 2.0 solution comprises 20 scenario-based solutions focused on construction, passenger and freight transport, and equipment maintenance. Huawei collaborates with its partners to develop these modular solutions, tailored to customer needs. The company has already served over 50 major railway clients and 300 urban rail lines globally.
Jean-Michel Evanghelou from UIC, along with Mohamed Mezghani and Lidia Signor from UITP, attended the event. Speakers emphasized the importance of FRMCS technology (Future Railway Mobile Communication System) and the integration of artificial intelligence to enhance the railway's foundational infrastructure and operational efficiency. UITP, in collaboration with the China Association of Metro (CAMET), released the report "AI-Driven Smart Rail Transport," detailing the application of AI in metro systems.
