Huawei Launches New Mate TV 2 Smart TV Series
Huawei has released its new Mate TV 2 smart TV series, featuring the company's HarmonyOS 7 and Kirin 9-series chips. The series starts at a price of 7999 yuan.
Chinese technology firm Huawei has begun sales of its new Mate TV 2 smart TV series. This marks Huawei's first television lineup to incorporate both the HarmonyOS 7 operating system and the Kirin 9-series flagship chipset.
The series offers a range of screen sizes, with prices starting at 7999 yuan (approximately $1100 USD) for the 65-inch "Yuexiang" version and extending up to 34999 yuan (approximately $4800 USD) for the larger Pro models. The 98-inch Mate TV 2 Pro is priced at 34999 yuan.
These new smart TVs are powered by the Kirin T92 processor and run on HarmonyOS 7. Huawei claims significant performance upgrades over previous generations, including up to a 490% increase in single-core performance. The display utilizes Huawei's Black Diamond Screen Super MiniLED technology, capable of reaching a peak brightness of 4000 nits.
The televisions also emphasize picture and sound quality. They support 10.7 billion colors and feature AI-powered image enhancement. The audio is handled by the HUAWEI SOUND system, offering 2.2 channel spatial audio with a total power output of 130W. Enhanced home theater experiences are possible through external speaker integration.
Huawei highlights the smart connectivity enabled by HarmonyOS. The TVs can seamlessly connect with other Huawei devices, such as phones and tablets, for app continuity and screen mirroring. The TV can also function as a smart home control center, managing connected household devices.
