Chinese technology company Huawei has officially launched its new mobile imaging brand, XMAGE. The company states this new system represents a significant upgrade to the camera technology in Huawei's smartphones.

Richard Yu, a Huawei executive, announced the launch, describing XMAGE as aiming to combine technological innovation with a deeper understanding of people, life, and emotions behind images. Huawei's goal is to evolve from a fully self-developed imaging technology into a global image culture brand that defines the intelligent imaging era.

As part of the new system, Huawei also unveiled the "XMAGE Z10 Modular Camera" accessory for its Mate 90 Pro Max model, priced at 5999 yuan (approximately $820 USD). The bundled price for the phone and accessory is 19499 yuan (approximately $2750 USD). The modular camera features a 1-inch, 50-megapixel sensor and optical zoom with 10x continuous zoom capabilities (24-240mm).

The latest Mate 90 series models also feature the upgraded XMAGE imaging system, focusing on portrait, telephoto, color, video, and intelligent photography. New features include a continuously variable aperture, updated "Red Maple" color technology, and a 200-megapixel telephoto camera.
