Huawei Launches Upgraded Xinghe AI Campus Solution for Southern Africa

Huawei has introduced an upgraded version of its Xinghe AI Campus solution during the Huawei Network Summit 2026 in South Africa. This enhancement aims to advance "secure and intelligent connectivity" across the region. The company also hosted the award ceremony for the AirEngine Wi-Fi 7 CSI Sensing Challenge, highlighting its commitment to fostering AI integration across various sectors in collaboration with partners and clients.

The upgraded Xinghe AI Campus solution is built around three core features: ultra-fast wireless, comprehensive security, and autonomous networking. For wireless connectivity, Huawei has implemented its AirEngine Wi-Fi 7 access point, designed to deliver increased speed and reliability. Key technologies include intelligent coordinated multi-AP scheduling (iCSSR) to minimize interference and advanced same-frequency networking (ASFN) for seamless roaming.

On the security front, the solution provides a robust defense system covering asset, connectivity, spatial, and privacy security. AI-powered device identification and anomaly detection identify and block threats, while features like Wi-Fi Shield and end-to-end MACsec with post-quantum cryptography (PQC) ensure data transmission security. Wi-Fi CSI sensing technology monitors the physical environment for intrusions, and the iGuard AP offers continuous detection of hidden recording devices.

The autonomous networking aspect leverages AI for automated operations and maintenance. The iFlow-based system can quickly identify and resolve network performance issues, automating the resolution of up to 80% of wireless failures. Huawei expects this upgraded solution to accelerate digital transformation and network modernization in Southern Africa.
