Reports suggest that Huawei's anticipated Mate 90 smartphone series has commenced its offline distribution to retailers in China. The leaked information also provides details on four different models, their storage capacities, and color options.
The leaked specifications reveal that the series will include the Mate 90, Mate 90 Pro, Mate 90 Pro Max, and Mate 90 RS models. The base Mate 90 is listed with storage options of 12+256GB and 12+512GB, available in black, white, pink, and green. The Mate 90 Pro will offer configurations of 12+256GB, 12+512GB, 16+512GB, and 16+1TB, in black, white, orange, and green. The Pro Max model features 16+512GB and 16+1TB storage options, available in black, white, gold, green, and as a photography package. The high-end Mate 90 RS will come with 16+512GB and 16+1TB storage, in black, white, and red.
The series is expected to be powered by Huawei's latest Kirin flagship processor, potentially the Kirin 9050 Pro, which is described as the company's first "tau chip." It is reportedly stated that the top-tier Mate 90 Pro Max will leverage the best performance from this processor. In terms of design, the phones are said to continue Huawei's signature "starlight ring" aesthetic, with the RS model noted for a potentially octagonal design.
Despite these reports of distribution starting, Huawei has not officially confirmed the launch date or the full specifications for the Mate 90 series. The company has announced an event for new HarmonyOS intelligent vehicles and other 鸿蒙智行 products scheduled for September 28. It remains unclear whether the Mate 90 series will be unveiled at this event.
