Huawei Mate 90 Series Tipped to Use SmartSens Sensors, 200MP Periscope Camera

Huawei's anticipated Mate 90 series smartphones may incorporate image sensors from SmartSens across several camera modules, according to Chinese tech tipster Digital Chat Station. The standard Mate 90 model is rumored to employ a 50-megapixel SC575XS sensor with a 1/1.56-inch format. Higher-tier versions are reportedly slated to use a 50-megapixel SC595XS sensor, featuring a larger 1/1.28-inch format. Both sensor types are said to support SmartSens' recent LOFIC technology.

Specifically, the Mate 90 Pro Max is tipped to include a 200-megapixel SCC85XS periscope telephoto sensor, also with a 1/1.28-inch format. This sensor would mark SmartSens' first high-resolution 200MP product developed entirely within China's domestic supply chain, from design to production.

Huawei has not officially confirmed any of these camera specifications or the launch timeline for the Mate 90 series. However, previous industry reports have pointed towards a potential release in late September.
