Huawei has released a HarmonyOS system update for its Mate XT 2 foldable smartphone. The new update, version 7.0.0.109 SP8, brings several notable enhancements, including the introduction of 3D spatial wallpapers and an upgraded communication sharing feature that now supports multiple users.
The update's most prominent new features include 3D spatial wallpapers, which combine elements from photos with depth and perspective clocks to create spatially layered lock screens. Additionally, the communication sharing function has been expanded to support multi-device sharing between phones, tablets, and computers running HarmonyOS 7. This allows for network sharing through device proximity ('touch') or by logging into the same Huawei account, aiming to provide a faster and more stable network experience in areas with weak mobile signals or high network load.
The update also brings improvements to photo editing capabilities, such as the generation of 3D dynamic photos with various spatial motion effects. Other additions include the automatic switching to dark mode based on sunrise and sunset times, enhanced camera image quality and stability, and overall system stability and performance optimizations.
Huawei continues to develop its HarmonyOS ecosystem, offering users enhanced features and seamless cross-device collaboration. Users can check for the update's availability through their device's settings. The update is being rolled out in phases, so availability may vary.
