Huawei MateBook Receives HarmonyOS Update with New Features
Huawei has released a HarmonyOS update (version 7.0.0.111SP7) for its MateBook laptops. The update introduces new visual elements and enhances multi-device collaboration.
Chinese technology firm Huawei has announced the release of an update for its HarmonyOS operating system, version 7.0.0.111SP7, for select MateBook models. The update is available for MateBook Pro, Pro S, 14, and Fold devices.
A key new feature is the introduction of 3D image-based wallpapers. These wallpapers create a dynamic, 3D effect on the lock screen that responds to user interaction. The update also includes enhanced multi-device communication and collaboration capabilities, such as a "multi-person mutual communication sharing" feature, although this was not explicitly detailed in the release notes.
Further enhancements in this update allow for personalized font and icon settings. Users can now also benefit from an improved "Moments" feature that automatically curates photos and videos based on time or theme. Additionally, support for external optical drives for disc burning has been added.
Huawei has also focused on system optimization, improving air gesture functionality and overall system stability and performance. The update includes security patches up to October 2026 and addresses previously reported issues, such as a transcription problem with the "Panoramic Smart Notes" feature across different devices.
The HarmonyOS update aims to provide users with a more engaging and seamless experience on their MateBook laptops, incorporating both aesthetic improvements and functional upgrades.
