Huawei-partner Chery's Luxeed R7 EV submitted to Chinese regulators
An application to China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) reveals new details about the Luxeed R7 electric vehicle, a product of the Chery-Huawei collaboration.

The new Luxeed R7 electric vehicle, a collaboration between automaker Chery and technology firm Huawei, has been registered with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) for approval. The filing, part of the ministry's 409th batch of product announcements, offers the first official look at the vehicle's specifications and features.
Three R7 variants have been approved, classified as five-seat multipurpose passenger vehicles produced by Chery. The vehicle measures 4,982mm long, 1,981mm wide, and between 1,634mm and 1,650mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,950mm. Its top speed is rated at 200km/h.
For its powertrain, all models utilize drive motors from Huawei Digital Energy Technology. Two variants feature a single motor with a peak power of 227kW, while one model employs a dual-motor setup, with the front motor at 150kW and the rear at 227kW. Battery options include both ternary lithium and lithium iron phosphate cells, supplied by Jiangsu Times New Energy Technology and CATL or CALB respectively.
